ASHA conventions held in Tuensang , Mokokchung, Wokha

TUENSANG: ASHA convention of Tuensang district was jointly organized by district health society Tuensang, NRHM, department of health and family welfare on April 12 at town hall Tuensang.

Alepla Chang, president Tuensang District Mothers Association speaking as the chief guest encouraged ASHA members to work diligently as they were the main link between villagers and medical health centre.

She also said ASHAs’ duties include giving health care at the grass root level with hope and dedication towards the needy people. 
She also gave away awards to best ASHA link workers from different block.

Mobile handset and ASHA kits were distributed to all ASHA.
A short play on the work of ASHA was presented by the ASHAs Longkhim Block and ASHA coordinator shared their experience during the function.

Dr. Lanuchuba DIO Tuensang, District Programme Manager, Kevin, District Account Manager Akho and Amos Khiam coordinator school health programme, BPMs and ASHA Coordinators of the entire block attended the programme.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Thanghoi Lam Dy. CMO Tuensang.

MOKOKCHUNG: Mokokchung District Health Society organized accredited social health activities convention on April 12 under the note ‘Infusing a healthy tomorrow’ with deputy commissioner and chairman district health society Mokokchung, Murohu Chotso as chief guest.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest lauded the ASHA for performing their noble job tirelessly for the uplift of the rural health condition and urged them to continuously shoulder the responsibility for improving the condition of the rural health population especially of women and children. Earlier, the chief guest also gave away the awards to the four best performing blocks of the district.

The programme was attended by officials from the Directorate of H&FW, Kohima, programme officers and medical officers of Mokokchung and more than a hundred ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activist) from the four blocks in the district.

WOKHA: District Health Society, Wokha organised the 1st ASHA convention on April 11 at youth centre DBHSS Wokha.
Minister for agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry graced the occasion as the chief guest along with Rovilatuo Mor deputy commissioner & chairman DHS Wokha, S. Sangtam SP Wokha, Dr. Kevingulie Khro MS District Hospital, Wokha, NGOs, DPRO staff.

Directorate Officials Dr. Kevichusa, joint director & SPO NRHM, Dr. Kevi Sekhose Epiodimologist IDSP, Chubala State ASHA nodal officer also attended the programme.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Chumben said in the recent years, the health department has become participatory unlike the past when work was only put upon the officers.

He said, the inception of NRHM was of great benefit to the people but among all these, the concept of ASHA was the best. 
He also stated that this probably might be the best ASHA convention in the state, judging the active participation of ASHAs, and a systematic and well-organized programme.
Rovilatuo Mor DC & Chairman DHS, Wokha, Dr. Kevichusa, Dr. Kevingulie MS District Hospital, Wokha also spoke at the programme.
