Workshop on school sanitation and hygiene education at Tuensang

A workshop on school sanitation and hygiene education sponsored by water sanitation support organization (WSSO), PHED was held at Tuensang on April 17 at CKS hall Tuensang with chief guest T. Mhabemo Yanthan DC Tuensang. Mhabemo congratulated the department for organizing the programme for the people of Tuensang district and conveyed gratitude for Sulabh team who came from Delhi to Tuensang for the programme.

Stating that sanitation has to be maintained in each and everyone’s lives, Mhabemo said “Good sanitation required good planning”. He also informed that district administration had prepared to provide minimum toilet facilities to all villagers under Tuensang district.

Short speeches were also delivered by executive engineer, WSSO, PHED, office of the chief engineer, Nagaland, Kohima Er. Agwasang Kent.

Introductory and welcome speech was delivered by Sanitation and Hygiene Consultant DWSM (PHED) Tuensang, Er. Imsumeren Aier. Views on Sulabh was delivered by National Coordinator, Sulabh Rupak Roy Choudhury.

View of a girl from Delhi was presented by Anukti, cultural presentation by Sangtam Cultural Troupe, special number by T. Vylila Chang and vote of thanks by SDO (PHED) Tuensang R. Thepongse Sangtam were the highlights of the programme. Right after the programme, DEO/Joint Director, Tuensang Tohoshe Sumi inaugurated the Water Purification Unit at Government Primary School Hakchang, which was installed by PHED Nagaland under central flagship programme sponsored under Jalmani.
