April 26, 2012 | by admin

In the interest and welfare of public, particularly the Aghunaqa area under Niuland, Dimapur, the Aghunaqa Area GBs Association (AAGBA) has sought immediate intervention and necessary action from the department in-charge to address the public grievances in regard to transfer of EAC, Aghunaqa, Niuland, Dimapur, in 2011.

According to a press statement issued by the association’s president, Toshiho Sumi, EAC Aghunaqa was created in 2007 and subsequently deployed in 2010, but within a short span of time, the EAC was transferred in 2011 and till date no one has been replaced/posted even after repeated plea and request.

The release also stated the area comprising thirty eight villages including Aghunaqa Hq. was now without an  EAC since the last transfer, for which the public were facing many untold hardship without an administrative officer and moreover since the area falls under disturbed area belt (DAB), the public feel threatened without an officer.

AAGBA lamented that after the creation of EAC Aghunaqa, infrastructural development were awarded in the government’s work plan for construction of EAC office at its headquarter amounting to Rs.600000 (sixty lakhs) in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 but till date, the said work was not executed and the proposed fund has been siphoned off.

While considering the matter seriously, the association further urged the state government to immediately deploy an EAC at Aghunaqa for the security of public and also to provide infrastructure including EAC office and resident quarter for smooth functioning as well as the interest of the public.
