Simon Cowell, who sent the internet into overdrive after being seen with a plaster behind his ear, is said to have nicked himself while shaving.
Photos of the 52-year-old music mogul sporting a band-aid sparked web chatter that he has had cosmetic surgery.
However, his representative denied that he had gone under the knife.
“He accidentally cut himself,” the Daily Star quoted a source close to the ‘X Factor boss’ as saying.
An unofficial biography published earlier this year claimed that well-groomed Cowell has Botox injections twice a year to keep his youthful looks.
It also reported that he gets regular colonic irrigation, has vitamin injections and insists on “life- enhancing fresh fruit” being sent to him by air freight.
His plaster was spotted by paparazzi as he drove down Los Angeles’ Sunset Boulevard in his classic Ford Bronco.
“If he was trying to hide something he wouldn’t be driving past a load of photographers on one of America’s most famous streets,” an onlooker said.
