Parliamentary secretary for tourism, law & justice, Yitachu graced the silver jubilee celebration of Khumiasü village, near Meluri on June 20.
Yitachu asserted it was not only celebrating the recognition of 25 years of the village but a celebration of history as Khumiasu happened to be the first Catholic village in Pochury tribe.
Also stating that Khumiasü happened to be the first cent percent Catholic village in Nagaland, Yitachu said such feat has made Pochury people proud.
The parliamentary secretary challenged villagers to maintain honesty and truthfulness.
Later, he inaugurated the newly constructed football and rostrum of Khumiasü village, constructed under DUDA. Yitachu also called upon the people to insist on quality construction.
A brief history of Khumiasü village was given by Shiekutho Nyusou. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Riechusie, Village Council chairman while a pioneer speech was delivered by Khazhipa Nyusou.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed by Shietsutho, secretary KVC. Blessing of silver jubilee monolith was done by Rev.Fr Mathew Keemattan, Parish Priest.
