Nagaland governor Nikhil Kumar while inaugurating the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) Friday at St. Joseph College Jakhama urged participants to take back the sweet memories of Nagaland and spread the message that Nagas were peace loving who were eager to participate in the process of nation building.
According to a DIPR report, the Governor in his speech stated that the nation today was lacking "discipline" and it was the duty of the youth to fill the gap.
Nikhil Kumar said that NCC cadets were the future of the nation who should play a vital role in fulfilling the task. He exhorted the cadets saying that NCC should have the spirit of selfless service orientation and discipline.
Besides the songs by A. Sheetal from Maharashtra and Love Story by Mezanuo from Nagaland, the other highlights of the day included curtain raiser by NER NIAT-Nagaland, Punjabi solo dance by Suo Durbindar Singh, folk song by Bihar and Jarkhand team, Bihu dance from NER Assam and folk song NER Nagaland.
The programme was chaired by Col. Abhay Singh and welcome address was given by Rev. Father Sajan Neimmanil, principal St. Joseph College Jakhama. The national integration camp was attended by 600 cadet boys and girls from all over India.
