Responding to Nagaland Medical Students’ Association (NMSA)’s objection on the selection/nomination of non local candidates for undergoing MBBS/BDS and other technical courses, state directorate of technical education said it has been given the responsibility of selection and nomination of JEE candidates against seats reserved for the State of Nagaland since 2004.
In a release, technical education director A. Kathipri said selection of JEE candidates was finalised through the sole criteria of JEE merit, by a Common Selection Board comprising of 12 members drawn from different departments.
Further, technical education director stated that all applications were carefully screened and preference was given to local indigenous candidates for selection.
The director pointed out that after careful scrutiny of applications and documents, contrary to what NMSA allegation, the directorate did not find any candidate selected with “false and fabricated documents”.
The directorate of technical education requested NMSA to get in touch with the office for any clarification instead of casting aspersions on the office or any qualified and deserving JEE candidate.
