LPG consumers in Dimapur have been informed that present LPG crisis, caused mainly been due to backlog of the past 3-4 months LPG shortage of supply, would take at least a month to resume normal supply.

The present situation of LPG shortage was reviewed at a joint meeting of district administration, IOC and gas agencies at deputy commissioner office July 6.

In a statement, ADC S.Khro said the meeting assured the costumers that home/spot delivery would resume and would become a norm in future once the supply normalized.

It stated that expected home/spot/area delivery however would be strictly only for the verified and valid customers of respective gas agencies and if anyone forcefully or without card tried to take the refilled gas, then the gas agency would have the right to discontinue deliveries in that area(s), for which IOC, district administration and gas agencies would not be held responsible.

The area/GBs of colonies/chairmen, elders and leaders along with the district administration and various councils have been requested to ensure the safety and security of the gas delivery boys from any forms of threat and use of force from issuing gas to unauthorised person (s) or non-card holders.

It affirmed that LPG gas would be issued only to bona fide and verified card holders, adding that no one, irrespective of his/her position and connection, should not harass or force the agencies to issue gas without a valid gas card having valid days of refeeling period as per the IOC rules.

The LPG agencies with the support of the IOC officers and local administration would make all efforts to ensure that the genuine customers did not face any hardship and problem to get their gas refilled, it asserted.

Meanwhile, district administration warned the commercial establishment to resist from using domestic cylinders and cautioned that they will be heavily penalized and will even be imprisoned if caught.

It also warned black marketers and non-card holders of dire consequence for impersonating as genuine consumers by “making line to get refill slips from agencies.”

LPG consumers have also been requested to take transfer to their nearest LPG agencies and get their card with proper address and contact numbers verified and changed if any necessary to enable the gas agencies to communicate and give the best service in the future.

Any card holders or consumers without proper verified cards along with its credentials will not be entertained either during spot delivery and or at counters, it informed.
