Vocational Training Provider Orion Edutech’s Kohima centre was inaugurated by Dr. Imotemsu Ao, Director and Registrar, Global Open University Nagaland on Saturday. The centre will offer government sponsored courses to students.

Speaking at the inaugural function as chief guest, Dr. Ao said he was delighted that vocation education and skill development are given importance in Nagaland.

Dr. Ao said Naga graduates or post graduates, who till some years ago were reluctant to try for clerical posts, were now fighting even for LDA level post.

“A holistic approach of planning of education and vocational skills is essential if we have to provide to the youth of the Nagaland enough opportunities for gainful employment,” he added.

Speaking as guest of honour, Dr. John Murry said government sponsored courses were a boon for students and they should make full use of the opportunity since they were getting job placements at the end of the course.

Dr. Yan Murry, regional director, Orion Edutech while speaking on the occasion said training centres would be set-up in five districts of Nagaland so that deserving youth receive equal opportunity.

Kohima centre located near Ao church is headed by its Director Renbemo.
Admissions are open for the government sponsored diploma in BPO management course.
