Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) while acknowledging the measures taken by district administration and department concerned to improve the NH-155, however, said “as per reliable sources, it will take more than a month to improve the condition of the NH -155.”
Stating that “the only NH-155 connecting Tuensang district via Mokokchung is presently not pliable due to landslide near Mangaki Village”, CCSU said people in Tuensang district have been facing hardship because of shortage of essential commodities.
In a statement, CCSU president Y. Hongkin Chang further pointed out that the alternative route via Longmisa and Noksen was also in a “pathetic condition and not pliable”.
In view of this, CCSU has appealed to the department concerned and the state government to immediately intervene and take up necessary steps to improve the NH-155 and also to generate financial assistance to improve the Longmisa- Noksen- Kudie Road CCSU cautioned that “if any untoward incident happens due to the closure of the road, the department concerned and the state government will be solely responsible.”
