Anti-corruption cell of District Congress Committee Dimapur (ACCDCC) has extended its support to Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) with regard to payment of liabilities amounting of Rs. 35, 83, 68, 952.
A release issued by Khrozote Kapfo and Kevishel Viswentso, members (ACCDCC) stated the state cabinet decision constituting special investigation team (SIT) to probe the genuineness of the executed works was nothing but an “excuse of bankruptcy despite payment of liabilities made since 2002”.
The release further stated that “any works executed was measured and entered into Measurement Book by the authority in charge which finally becomes validity of the work. Inviting the probe into such executed works itself indicated the credibility of the department in charge in the due process of preparing bills”.
ACCDCC also said that more than 100 crores of rupees were paid to unregistered contractors since 2002 and has extended awards as per 2030 SOR. “Such complacent attitude of the state government on genuine issue is a result of deficiency governance”, stated the release.
ACCDCC while appealing to the government not to “engulf with economic crisis” upon the public also said such issue needed to be “hammered out” before the situation becomes worst and hamper the developmental activities in the state.
“Liabilities are not the creation of NCSU but negligence of the state government for non-payment of bills since a decade”, added ACCDCC.
