Bano launches motorcycles for border area officials

Six motorcycles for border areas was formally launched by Bano Z. Jamir ACS & commissioner Nagaland at a function held at commissioner’s office on Tuesday.

Bano, addressing the function said the prime objective of the project was for the welfare of the people in the border areas as communication was important for administration.

Advising the border area officials stationed at border areas, she said the bikes should be used as per the norms of the government and serve the public in a better way.

She cautioned that any rumour which would create confusion in the society must be avoided and peaceful environment with the neighbor Assam should be maintained.

Bano expressed gratitude to state government for providing the fund for the welfare of the people.
She said the respective district DCs and officials would be monitoring the works.

L. Limsong joint secretary border affairs expressed gratitude for the bikes provided, adding it would prove useful during rainy season and for spot verification when required.

He advised the bikers to use helmets for safety when on duty. He said the project would enhance the work of the department in serving the people.

The function was chaired by Anenla Longchari, joint commissioner and dedication prayer was proposed by Kedo Peseyie pastor City Church Kohima. The motorcycles was financed by commissioner department. The department also provided 12 helmets.
