3 ‘habitual robbers’ arrested

Acting on a tip off, O.C police station Zunheboto and his staff arrested 3 “habitual robbers” on September 8 along with “stolen consignment”.

The accused were identified as Khekato s/o Sukiye of A/Saghemi village, Vinato s/o Lukheto of Yezami village, Tohekhu s/o Kiyeto of Yezami Village, and are residents of Khuwoboto colony, Zunheboto, said police sources.

The stolen items included 8 air guns, 1 handmade 12-bore gun; 17/11 pellets and ammo of the 2 guns respectively. The haul also included 320 balls used in ammo-making, two arms licences, gun making tools and gadgets and various cutting items.

A case has been registered at Zunheboto Police Station and the accused persons booked under the 457/380 I.P.C R/W 25(I.A) Arms Act reportedly. The accused were allegedly carrying out their illegal activities at Tizu river valley where they were caught by the personnel, as per report.
