A send off function was arranged at Raj Bhavan, Kohima for the 16 Assam Rifles who were guarding Raj Bhavan from April 2009 to till date by state governor Nikhil Kumar on September 7.The new house guard party is from 19 Assam Rifles.
16 AR completed its tenure in Kohima and would be moving to Manipur. The function was attended by the DIG (CRPF), Commandant 16 AR and Commandant of 19 AR (incoming battalion), Commander BRTF, director, ex-serviceman resettlement board, superintendent of police (special branch) and other senior officers from Assam Rifles.
Governor congratulated the personnel for their sincere duties and wished them the best in their future endeavour.
