Hindi will soon be a link language: Nikhil

State Governor Nikhil Kumar Friday opined that Hindi, the official language of India should not be imposed in all the non-Hindi speaking belts.

He however said it depended upon “them” whether to accept Hindi as the link language. Speaking during a programme of the Hindi Fortnight (Hindi Pakhwada Samapan Samaroh 2012) at state academy hall, as the chief guest, the governor said the day was not far when Hindi would be soon accepted as the link language besides being the official language.

State chief secretary, Lalthara who was the guest of honor, in his brief address urged all to make Hindi a universal language for unifying the nation. He also said in Nagaland, Hindi was not common due to the existence of different cultures, traditions and languages and appealed the participants to continue spreading the importance of Hindi.

Special invitee, major general B.S Das SM (IGAR) North in his short address also touched upon the introduction of computer facilities for the implementation of Hindi at a larger scale as the national language.

Earlier, the chief guest released an annual Hindi magazine while the dignitaries on the occasion handed out prizes to the winners of competitions on poetry recital, extempore speech, quiz competition, dictation, singing, handwriting and essay writing.
