NSCN (K) has condemned Friday’s incident at Zunheboto where it said “a one year old minor boy was killed by bullet wounds inflicted on him allegedly by GPRN/NSCN cadres”.
NSCN (K) MIP while expressing shock over the incident blamed the paramilitary forces particularly Assam Rifles (AR) for the incident stating that the same occurred due to the “free movement” allowed to GPRN/NSCN cadres in Zunheboto and elsewhere in Nagaland.
Stating that AR had virtually given freedom to move around freely with arms, MIP also said that it should own responsibility for the Friday incident as “GPRN/NSCN has been given protection and shelter by the paramilitary forces”.
MIP stated that NSCN (K) cadres have been left “defenceless” against “Khehoi renegades” without arms and further cited an instance where three of its cadres were apprehended by AR without arms and handed over to police.
NSCN (K) MIP also said that the “reckless and lack of discipline” exhibited by GPRN/NSCN cadres have led to the unfortunate incident adding that it was one among many others including the “Aghunato and Thilixu incidents” where civilians bore the brunt of the “errant” GPRN/NSCN cadres.
MIP said the NSCN (K) has now left the matter to NGOs and the Nagas in general to ponder over the matter and judge for themselves whether the act was “accidental or intentional”.
NSCN (K) while condemning the incident also offered condolence to the family of the deceased minor and prayed that God Almighty grant solace to the family of the deceased.
