September 30, 2012 | by admin

Medziphema Town GB Union (MTGBU) Saturday said the selection examination/process for the post of veterinary field assistant at Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute (VFATI) Medziphema conducted by state veterinary department on September 16 was not fair nor was it based on merit.

In a statement,  MTGBU president Abielie Vüprü and general secretary Rokovitso Kuotsu also said that though the institute is located at Medziphema, the people of area especially Medziphema Village have been neglected by the department.

Pointing out that the land for the institute was donated to the department with an “optimistic hope” that it would provide some benefits like allotment of seats, contract works etc., MTGBU however said despite repeated assurances “the promises” were never fulfilled.

In reaction to the neglect, Medziphema Village Youth Organization on September 25 prohibited/banned the oral test/interview conducted by VFATI” as a protest, said the statement. MTGBU said it apologized for the inconveniences caused to the candidates for the sane and has urges the veterinary department to look into the issues for bringing an amicable solution.
