NST official thrashed; residence damaged

Station-in-charge of Nagaland State Transport (NST) Tamlu Town under Longleng district was beaten up by youths and his private residence damaged on October 2 night.

According to a delayed report reaching district assistant superintendent of NST Longleng, one NST bus plying between Tamlu and Dimapur was parked at the station at Tamlu. However, the next morning, the station-in-charge found the window glasses of the bus damaged by some miscreants.

He then complained about it to the ad hoc town council to probe into the incident and apprehend the culprits at the earliest. It was reported that the ad hoc town council members after a thorough investigation, managed to apprehend those involved in the incident without the knowledge of the station in charge.

Later, he was informed that there was a compromise worked out over the incident and the town committee assured replacing the damaged glass out of its own expenses. However, to the surprise of the station-in-charge and neighbors, several youths of the village in the middle of the night and thrashed the station-in-charge. He is reportedly undergoing treatment in the district hospital Longleng, sources added.
