Former minister for roads and bridges and sitting Congress legislator, K.V Pusa inspected the inter-state road from Chakhabama via Kezo town to Mao in Senapati district in Manipur on October 11.
During his visit, Pusa expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of works as there were several landslides that had damaged the roads compounded by poor drainage system, stated a press release issued through mail.
He therefore asked the state government to immediately look into the matter and also directed the contractors to clear all landslides and start constructing drainages.
The road which he said was the economic highway sanctioned by the centre has been neglected by the state government even though 80% of money has been released to the contractors.
The road from Kezo town to National Highway-29 at Kigwema constructed under PMGY has been blocked for several months and Pusa urged the department of roads and bridges to clear the road at the earliest for the convenience of public.
