Dimapur police Tuesday revealed the identity of the woman who was arrested on October 20 in connection with possession of fake currency notes worth over Rs. 3 lakhs from Signal Bosti, Dimapur.
The accused has been identified as one Anem Bom (35), w/o Ayo Awungshi, a resident of Signal Angami, Dimapur. Talking to Nagaland Post, SDPO Dimapur, Relo Aye, said that a joint team of SOT and Women Cell personnel i/c Bem and IO Alila, raided the house of the accused after receiving specific information.
He said that the fake notes were all in denomination of Rs.500. Relo warned that circulation of more counterfeit notes may increase during the festive season.
