MLA and advisor NKVIB and MTF Dr. Nicky Kire said teachers are role models for their students while speaking as the chief guest at the parent’s day celebration of Mount Hermon school Kenouzou, Kohima on Wednesday.
Stating that parents and teachers share equal responsibilities in guiding the children, Kire suggested forming of an association for better co-relationship and betterment of students.
He advised parents to spend quality time with their children at home and also check their performances in school.
Impressed with the excellent performances by students in the programme, Kire further advised teachers to be more interactive with their students, saying it would help the former to explore their student’s hidden talent and the latter to identify their talent, gift and use it according to their capacity.
R. Sorei school administrator in his brief address expressed gratitude to the parents for their “unceasing moral and prayer support” for the school.
He reminded the parents and students that the school has been living up to its motto “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of the knowledge” since its inception.
Earlier, Vaoshok pastor Tangkhul Baptist Church Kohima, said the invocation prayer, welcome note by Viketounuo Metha, pearls of wisdom by Kevemedo Rutsa, a senior citizen from Kohima village.
Keduo-o Zumu chairman Kenouzou welfare board also addressed the gathering.
The highlights of the programme included “brown girl” dance by lower class, music skit “from China” by middle class, drama “my strong savior” by senior students, colorful dance “we are human beings first” junior students, Bollywood dance “ Bitaaa huwa kaal” by lower class students, Manipuri dance “Khamba thoibi dance” by class 2 students etc.
Moses headmaster said the closing prayer.
Hundreds of parents, school board members, schools prayer partners, well wishers and alumina attended the programme.
