TPO sensitizes Mon police personnel on AIDS

Turning Point Organisation (TPO) Mon organized a one-day advocacy programme on HIV & AIDS at SP office complex, DEF Mon on November 12.

The main objective of the programme was to sensitize police personnel with the basic information on HIV & AIDS.
The programme was chaired by Pongkhe Konyak while invocation was pronounced by Rev. Takyong Konyak, Evangelist Police Baptist Church; Mon.

Vito, SDPO in his welcome address, appreciated the organisation for their contribution to the community and assured to extend cooperation towards the organisation in near future while conducting such programme.

H. Chongying Yinlunghu, Director, TPO in his speech delivered factual information on HIV & AIDS, its route of transmissions and preventive measures.

Dr. Chenchei Konyak, MO in-charge LAC, district hospital, Mon made known about the availability of the free service, facilities and follow-up for HIV & AIDS and STI in detail.

Besides, he also pointed out about the confidentiality of blood testing result to the participants.
Further, participants’ doubt and misconception were clarified during the interaction session.

The programme concluded with benediction by Konpa Konyak, youth director, Police Baptist Church, Mon followed by blood testing after pre-test counseling.
