Unemployed Civil Engineers’ Association of Nagaland (UCEAN) has served an ultimatum on the state government demanding immediate addition of 4 posts to the advertisement no. NPSC-2/2012-2013 and revoke undergoing promotion process for those four posts within a week.
According to UCEAN, as per government order dated August 18, 20 numbers of posts (SDO and above) were released (17 on retirement, two on expiry and one new post creation).
In a representation to commissioner & secretary, PWD (W&H), UCEAN president M.edozeu Chatsu and general secretary Neikuonuo Solo pointed out that as per Nagaland engineering service rules, 60% of vacancy has to be directly recruited through NPSC (12 posts) and remaining 40% (8 posts) by departmental promotion.
However, UCEAN said only 8 posts (SDO) were advertised violating service rule. They also said as per government order 8 JEs were promoted.
