Residential camp for children infected and affected by HIV and AIDS organized by Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) in collaboration with Churches alliance from December 11-14 at the mission compound (Tuensang Town Baptist Church) concluded Friday at jubilee memorial hall TTBC.
The valedictory programme was graced by Sushil Kumar Patel SDO civil, Tuensang as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Sushil Kumar encouraged the children to work hard in order to succeed in life.
He also lauded the immense contribution of various churches, ECS and UNICEF for its effort in rendering their valuable services. The chief guest also emphasized on the importance of spreading an awareness programmes in rural areas.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sangkap pastor TTBC while invocation was pronounced by Pesha assistant pastor KBC. Welcome address was delivered by Adekhing youth director SBC while vote of thanks was proposed by James Chang.
The campers also presented a special songs and a role play. The chief guest also inspected the exhibition stalls being displayed by the campers.
It may be mentioned that the residential children’s camp was initiated and funded by UNICEF, with an aimed to enhance self-esteem of children infected and affected by HIV with the goal to improve self- care, including increased treatment adherence, better educational attainment an improved aspirations.
