4th Aloha annual session

The 4th Aloha annual session held Saturday at Red Cross Conference Hall, Kohima with Jelle J. P Wouters, M. Phil (university of Oxford) Ph. D scholar (NEHU) from Holland as special guest.

Addressing the gathering, Jelle said student should be responsible for one’s own education actively pursuing with hardworking attitude and should not take it as a pleasure. He said if anyone was determined and committed than everything would be at one’s feet where success comes not in easy way and so one has to work for it.

Working hard does not just mean doing the work but it is an attitude to which one has the will to do the things for one’s own betterment and one must have high purpose he said.

Neikule Doulo, master franchise, Aloha Mental Arithmetic, Nagaland in her welcome address said their main aim was to make the children realize of their dreams and so it was not only the role of the students but the teachers and parents should also play their role.

The centre is set up in 74 countries in which India was rank 73 where Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh was rank with the highest quality education.

She appealed to the parents to help their children to be more independent in their thinking and learn to write and said that students working hours outside the school including weekends were 70%.

While sharing the importance of phonics for reading readiness Kopele Mero, special educator and education consultant said many children cannot decode and read by themselves who were not taught with phonics.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Abeni Tungoe while Prukhru movi (course instructor) gave a demonstration of Aloha Mental Arithmetic with the Aloha students.

Julie and friends presented a dance, while prize was distributed to all students who did well in the national levels and in the story writing competition which was held form the centre.

The Christmas Harvest Programme “Fellowship-cum-Dinner” was organized by Mission-Keziekie Neighbors Fellowship with the sanitary workers of Kohima Municipal Council at Union Baptist Church (UBC) on December 15.
