Nagas at transitional chapter: Khekiho

MP Rajya Sabha Khekiho Zhimomi on Tuesday said the entire Naga community was at a transitional chapter to decide the future of the Naga national struggle and the impending state assembly election.

“Therefore the wise decision to give a chance to the right leader is inevitable” Khekiho said. 
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural session of two-day 32nd annual general meeting of Sumi Students’ Union Diphupar (SSUD) at Sumi Community Council Diphupar Hall complex.

He said students are the future custodians of the society and the government and lauded SSUD leaders for carrying forward the union with such an appropriate motto ‘For a better tomorrow’. He called upon the parents to extend their physical presence too during such occasions which would encourage and boost the student’s development. 

Earlier, the function started with invocation prayer by Avito Chophy, Pastor SBC Diphupar and followed by greetings from Habenthung Ngullie, vice president, DNSU. I. Vitoshe Kinimi, chairman, Diphupar village council also exhorted the students.

Programme was followed by cultural presentations from Ao, Sumi and Rongmei Students’ Unions of Diphupar and Diphupar Sumi women folk. As a token of encouragement chief guest donated Rs.1 lakh to Diphupar Sumi Students’ Union and Rs.10,000/- each to the four cultural troupes.
