Mesulumi Students Union (MSU) 49th general session cum pre-golden jubilee celebration was held on December 21 at Government High School, Mesulumi under the theme “Knowledge in praxis” with Kudecho Khamo, chairman, entrepreneur development agency as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, the chief guest said that a student should have a vision and target in order to achieve its goal, adding that laziness has no place in today’s society.
Kudecho called upon the students to work hard and said that only meritorious students will find its place in this competitive world.
Stating that God is the only security in one’s life, he urged the students to work hard and commit themselves to God in order to achieve their goal in life.
Informing that there were many options other than government services, Kudecho encouraged the youngsters to take up entrepreneur as a career since it has good earning value.
President MSU, Lonyi Puro in his presidential address called upon the student to be more dedicated in their studies and urged them to work with strong determination and consistency in today’s competitive world.
He also informed the gathering that late Kerekha Khalo memorial meritorious award which carries a cash prize of Rs. 10000 and a certificate for HSLC toppers instituted by the children of late Kerekha Khalo since 2011 was first of its kind in MSU history. The president invited all individual/group to come forward with such incentive and encourgae students in the years to come.
Others who spoke at the function include VCC Mesulumi Wenyilo Venuh, convenor advisory board golden jubilee MSU Rev. Dr. N. Chiero and advisor MSU & Rtd. additional secretary Zachive Thele.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by vice president MSU, Deko Chiero while invocation was said by Rev. M.K. Puro, pastor MBC and the welcome address was given by speaker MSU, Likalo Letro.
