Weave together the world’s most beautiful songs in a compelling storyline. Assemble Nagaland’s best singers and musicians. Hire North East India’s best equipment and engineers.

Rope in the eccentric creativities of young filmmakers, designers, and artists. Win the favour and support of influential patrons. Then put this heady mix into the creative hands of an over-the-top television producer. And what do you get? It’s a kind of magic!

2013 is set to blast off with the staging of the great musical We Will Rock You – a musical created from the songs of one of the greatest bands in history, Queen. Since its opening in 2002, the musical has received both critical and commercial success, and remains one of the most popular musicals in the world today.

Besides UK and USA, the musical has been produced and staged in Ireland, Australia, Canada, Russia, Spain, Italy, Germany, Holland, Sweden, Japan, South Africa, Switzerland, Austria, New Zealand, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong.

The musical now comes to Nagaland. We Will Rock You is being staged by the production company Little Fire, headed by the experienced TV Producer/Director, V. Até Kevichüsa, and boasts a mouth-watering cast, including Obed (Divine Connection), Tali (Eximious), Lui (OFF), and Akihito (UDX).

The line-up of female actors and singers is also unbeatable: Mengu, Toshinaro (Naga Idol), and Kenei, to name but a few. Divine Connection, supported by extra (but no less extraordinary) musicians, will be giving the musical backup.

Among the current crop of Naga musicians and singers, these are the crème de la crème. If Naga music aficionados would kill to get these singers singing any song together, they would die listening to them singing Queen songs together.

The musical is being supported by the Government of Nagaland and its agencies, most notably the Music Task Force. A number of influential individuals and groups are also giving their patronage to the event.

Other support and assistance include: video graphics by the Naga production company Headhunters; stage and set construction by Metal Gear; lighting by Guwahati’s Sanjay; sound engineering by the experienced and ever-reliable Bari of Shillong partnered by Akielie of Life Pro; and personnel and logistical support by Symphony School of Music.

The event is set for January 7 and 8 at the DDSC Stadium (Dimapur Public Ground), 6 p.m and tickets would be available at the venue reasonably priced at Rs. 200 and Rs.100.
