Nagaland is all set for Guinness World Records attempt as musicians from all over the state including some from neighbouring states would be converging at Agri expo ground, Dimapur gathering on January 12 for the world’s largest electric guitar ensemble.
Talking to media persons Saturday at Café Destination, Dimapur, Sky Entertainment, the organizer of the world record attempt who would be supported by the Music Task Force (MTF), said that the concept behind the idea was not only to promote the state at the global level but also to let people around the world know that irrespective of tribes, the Nagas were living as one family.
The organizers also said that when there was unity and peace, Nagas living in harmony under one umbrella was possible.
They also invited all musicians in the state irrespective of tribes to come together and join them in breaking the record held by England in a similar attempt last year on October 14 with 250 electric guitar players.
With the stage all set for the attempt, project director, MTF, Gugs Chishi who was also present at the press conference said that the state government was playing a pivotal role in supporting Sky Entertainment, the stake holders of the event.
He also said that the guitar ensemble would feature the song “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” by Guns N Roses for which he said that anyone familiar with the song were welcomed to join by registering themselves.
With the state government releasing `20 lakhs for the event, Gugs also said that other additional resources and hardware would be sought from corporate sectors and music schools within and neighbouring states.
The day would be held with the presence of Guinness official, Nikhil Kishore Shukla, who would be arriving on January 11. The other attractions of the event include three lucky participants who would be walking away with a world class electric guitar each. A concert has also been organized after the attempt at the same venue.
