District Level Standing Committee Dimapur meet discusses poll related issues

After elections in Nagaland were announced on January 11 and with the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into force,  deputy commissioner, Dimapur, N. Hushili Sema, also the District Election Officer (DEO) and chairperson District Level Standing Committee (DLSC) Monday held an interactive session with committee members comprising district administration, police and political parties.

Talking to Nagaland Post, Hushili said that the interaction was held to familiarize political parties with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) with certain guidelines to be followed.

Hushili said Monday’s DLSC meeting was attended by all parties in the state – Dimapur District Congress Committee, NCP, BJP and NPF.

She also said a similar interactive session would be conducted as to when and situation demands before the ensuing elections.

It may be noted that according to the order, the DLSC has been set up to primarily secure the co-operation of all to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election and for strict observance of the ECI’s MCC.
