GPRN/NSCN ban on poll involvement

January 16, 2013 | by admin

GPRN/NSCN has directed all its rank and files not to take part in the coming state assembly elections. It has also warned of “stern disciplinary actions” against members “misusing their good offices.”

According to a GPRN/NSCN MIP statement Tuesday, all unit commanding officers and regional authorities have been instructed to strictly comply with the directive.

MIP said the direction was issued from the office of the collective leaders – president, ‘Gen. (Retd.)’ Khole Konyak and general secretary N. Kitovi.

GPRN/NSCN asked its members to remember that “we are not a part of India or under its constitution” but a “nation fighting for our independence and sovereign rights.”

It asserted that the members could not “betray” their rights by participating in the Indian elections.
