In view of the ensuing assembly elections, deputy commissioner (DC) and district election officer (DEO) Dimapur has issued a ban order on bursting of any kind of firecrackers in and around the district.
Stating it was to maintain public peace and tranquility, DC & DEO Dimapur N. Hushili Sema cautioned that violation of the order would be arrested and prosecuted as per law.
