Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Kohima, W. Honje Konyak has informed all presiding officers and 1st polling officers under Kohima district who were absent from the poll related trainings on February 4 and 5 that disciplinary action shall be initiated against them.
In this connection, all concerned have been directed to report to the office of the deputy commissioner, Kohima on February 8. Training of election agents of candidates under Kohima district will be conducted on February 11 at DC’s Conference Hall Kohima at 11 a.m. regarding maintenance of day to day accounts, cash register and bank register and also the procedure to file the final account after the declaration of results. DC W. Honje Konyak has instructed all candidates/expenditure agent, assistant expenditure observer and accounting team’s officer of respective constituencies under Kohima District to attend the training.
DC also informed all assistant returning officers under Kohima District to inform all village authorities, town councils, ward Panchayats, candidates and political parties under their jurisdiction/Assembly Constituency of Kohima district regarding the notice of the ‘illegal move for exercising voting of the entire family by the family or any other member’ issued by the CEO, Nagaland and to take necessary steps to prevent such illegal practices in order to avoid legal action.
DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner, Dimapur, N. Hushili Sema, has informed the general public of Dimapur that a new toll free number has been set up at her office control room for any complaints, queries or any other issues related to the ensuing assembly election. The toll free number is 18003453706.
Further, all sector officers/presiding officers, first presiding officers appointed for the state assembly election 2013 under Dimapur district have been directed to report for first training at Dimapur government college on February 8, 9a.m. DC Dimapur stated that any negligence on the part of officials appointed for election duty would be dealt with as per provision of law.

TUENSANG: Deputy Commissioner & district election officer Tuensang, T. Mhabemo Yanthan, has directed all owner of vehicles requisitioned for the purpose of the general election 2013 to submit original copies of vehicle registration certificate and driving license to the office of the district transport officer latest by February 12. DC further stated that defaulters would face penalty if they failed to comply with its directive.
KIPHIRE: In pursuance to ECI instruction relating to expenditure monitoring during the upcoming state assembly election, flying squad for 59 and 60 assembly constituencies are constituted with the following as members:
59 A/C- Benjamin Longkap EAC, leader (9862968561); N. Chenithung Murry ABSI (MT), member (9436414711); SDIO or his nominee, member (8729802091); Excise (Hd.constable), member (8974961323); Thepongse cashier, member (9436205768). 60 A/C- Meyazungba Jamir EAC (P), leader (9856556807); O.C Pungro or his nominee, member and Town DB Pungro (HQ) as member.Further Flying Squads shall be constituted for every sector with the sector officer as the leader for respective sectors. Terms of reference are as follows:
Flying squads would start functioning from the date of announcement of election and shall continue till completion of poll. Flying Squads with the help of video surveillance team shall video graph all major rallies, public meetings or major expenses made by political parties.
Flying squads shall attend to all complaints regarding election expenditure.Further, the video viewing team for 59 A/C & 60 A/C has been constituted with the following as members: Orenthung ADC (8974643345); R. Mutsangtsu HA election (8974999365) and Tongpise typist.This was issued in a notification by deputy commissioner & returning officer, Kiphire, Kesonyu Yhome.
BLOs asked to undertake special E-Roll drive: All BLOs under Kiphire district have been directed to undertake special drives to enroll genuine voters (of 18-19 years of age) who are not enrolled yet in the Electoral Roll 2013 in respective polling station as per the directives of the ECI.
The registration shall be accompanied by all necessary documents viz, full address, relationship, birth certificate for age proof, 2 recent passport size photographs duly certified by the respective supervisory officer/administrative officer and submit to the office of ERO or AEO on a daily basis.
CGRC constituted: Complaint and Grievance Redressal Cell (CGRC) has been constituted to address all complaints and grievances pertaining to the election processes.
The CGRC members are as follows: Additional Deputy Commissioner as nodal officer; APP (Judicial)- member; AEO- member and EAC (P) Kikato K Chishi- member.
Meanwhile, Chisho Swu, assistant election officer Kiphire has been nominated and designated as the Nodal Officer for EVM management and for coordinating all activities connected with the checking and randomization of EVM machines with immediate effect. One may contact Chisho at 8974481847.
PEREN: Deputy commissioner and district election officer, Peren, has directed vehicle owners and drivers whose vehicles had been requisitioned for election duty to report on February 20, 9 a.m onwards at public ground, Peren.DC, Peren, Senti Ao, in a press communiqué also directed them to make their own arrangements of food from the food stalls on payment which would be set up in the vicinity at the same time directed all outpost administrative officers who have been directed to bring the requisitioned vehicles from their respective jurisdiction.
It further stated that defaulters would be penalized under section 167 of the R.P Act 1951 and which may also lead to seizure of vehicles and cancellation of registration documents.
Vehicle permit: DC Peren informed all candidates that the vehicles which are being used for the purpose of election campaign must prominently display the permit of R.O. on its windscreen.
DC has notified all concerned to obtain such permit from the office of R.O. He further informed, that any such vehicle found without a valid permit and used for electioneering purposes would be considered as unauthorized and may attract penal provisions of chapter IX A of IPC.
DC & DEO Peren has directed all presiding and polling officers (except Grade IV staff) to attend second training on February 14 at 10:30 a. m. in the respective venues failing which disciplinary action would be initiated as per the provision of law.SDO (C) Office, Jalukie Govt. employees working under Jalukie sub-division; DBs Court, Tening Govt. employees working under Tening sub-division; Town Hall Peren, Govt. employees working under Peren Hq and Peren Sadar areas.
LONGLENG: Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Longleng, K. Libanthung Lotha informed all presiding officers,1st polling officers, 2nd polling officers, 3rd polling officers and Gr-IV staff listed for polling duties for the coming state Assembly Election, 2013 that there will be no exemption of duties whatsoever, until and unless certified by medical board for exemption.
DC also notified that no youth camps will be allowed in Longleng and Tamlu town. Also, processions either vehicles or groups by any political parties are have been banned.
