Accusing NPF candidate from 3-Dimapur-III assembly constituency, Azheto Zhimomi of “unleashing terror” in the constituency during pre and post poll, Congress party from the constituency has demanded the responsible authority to initiate action against the NPF candidate.
In a complaint letter, addressed to DC and DEO, Dimapur, the legal advisor of 3-Dimapur-III Congress party L. Inazhe Sema alleged that armed supporters of Azheto on February 18 last at Doyapur shot and injured a youth, identified as one Zheito, who is currently under treatment.
He also said alleged NPF armed supporters fired several rounds in and around Dhansiripar sub-division besides threatening Congress workers and supporters.
INC’s legal advisor also alleged that on February 24 at around 9 p.m. the house of Seluophe village head GB was attacked but he escaped unhurt. Further, he said on the same night, gun fire was heard near the house of one GB in Dhansiripar.
Subsequently, Inazhe said one Congress polling agent, identified as Biresh Kemprai, was seriously injured after he was dragged out of his house and beaten with pistol butt after which he was hospitalized in Dimapur.
The legal advisor to 3 Dimapur-III Congress, urged upon the responsible authority to issue necessary order to the NPF candidate to recall his armed supporters. INC also demanded that action be initiated against the candidate since armed supporters would not have acted without his orders.
SVC seeks police protection
Stating that some unknown miscreants from political party were creating unwanted situation in the village jurisdiction, Seluophe village council (SVC) has demanded police protection for the village till the election process was over.
In a letter to DC and DEO Dimapur, Soluophe village council stated that since February 22 some unknown miscreants were creating unwanted situation in the village and villagers were living in fear as their valuable properties were damaged by miscreants.
Maintaining that currently the situation was beyond its control, SVC said the village therefore in need of police protection.
ACSV condemns: Angami community Seluophe village (ACSV) has strongly condemned the February 24 incident, in which some unknown persons allegedly attempted on the life of head GB Pfuneilie Syie, damaged his properties and assaulted his daughter-in-law at Seluophe village ‘C’ Khel.
In a press release, ACSV chairman Lhouselie Nakhro and secretary Pfulhoulie Metha appealed to the responsible authority to bring to book the perpetrators and award punishment as per the law.
AVC condemns attack
Amaluma Village Council (AVC) has strongly condemned the attack on Biresh Kemprai, son of Late Padum Kamprai of Amaluma Village under Dhansiripar sub-division, Dimapur Nagaland on Sunday night at around 9.30 p.m.
In a press release, AVC chairman Jolendra Sengyung and Head GB Satyalal Thaosen said Biresh Kemprai was “seriously and mercilessly beaten up and injured on head, chest and arm.”
They also claim that several shots were also fired by “unidentified miscreants” and left the victim in a “senseless condition.”
Stating such kind of incident should not be allowed to happen in future in a peaceful village, AVC said it prayed for the speedy recovery of the victim.
