HM urges police to maintain discipline

State home minister G. Kaito Thursday called on police personnel to maintain discipline in all their assigned duties.

According to a DIPR report, Kaito while interacting with senior police officers and staff for the first time after assuming office as the home minister at at PHQ, Kohima, asked the police personnel to be sincere, vigilant and to work hard for improving the department.

He said police jawans who performed commendable jobs would be awarded with promotion. The home minister also expressed the view that VIP attachment deployment could be done only for exceptional cases. He also sought the cooperation of police officers.

Kaito was accorded guard of honour salute by Nagaland Police. The programme was chaired by ADG (Adm) L.T. Lotha. The concluding remarks were made by DGP B. Kezo.

Those who attended that programme included state home commissioner Temjen Toy, senior officers and ministerial staff.
