Railway police apprehends one

Personnel of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRPS Wednesday night apprehended one person identified as Abul Kasim (24), son of Abdul Majid and a resident of Nakoli Bazaar, Naogaon, Assam, from Dimapur railway station platform while he was trying to offer juice laced with sleeping pills (Ativan tablets) to a passenger bound for Guwahati.

According to police, the accused was trying to befriend the victim with the intention of robbing him of his cash and belongings after drugging him.

The victim alerted the RPF and GRPS personnel who were patrolling in the area and apprehended the accused.

Police further said that the accused has confessed of committing similar crimes at Diphu station few days back. Meanwhile, police said that they have formed an anti-drugging cell.
