Imchen assures help to improve Mokokchung district hospital

Minister for Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) department Imkong L Imchen visited Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) Mokokchung Monday and assured help from his department to improve the hospital.
According to a press release forwarded by NRHM media officer Olemienla, Mokokchung, the health minister held an interaction with the medical officers of Mokokchung. He was accompanied by DC Mokokchung Moruho Chotso; H&FW additional director Dr. Tako Lemtur; NRHM deputy director Dr. Kika Longkumer; and other officials from the state medical directorate.
During the interactive session at the IDSP Conference Hall, Imchen lauded the medical officers, staff of IMDH and their predecessors for maintaining the hospital. On the constraints faced due lack of infrastructure and manpower, Imchen while not promising to fulfill all requirements, assured to give his best with the assistance of officials from the directorate.
The minister asked the medical officers to discharge their responsibilities as medical profession called for serving the people. Imchen urged them to use the “available equipments” at their disposal for the welfare of the patients. 
Earlier, the Medical Superintendent of IMDH, Dr Bendangla briefed the health minister on constraints faced by the hospital like shortage of manpower, inadequate power and water supply, up-gradation of hospital, diagnostic and therapeutic equipments etc. 

Deputy chief medical officer, Dr. Akaba, who chaired the interactive session highlighted the urgent need of a CMO office in Mokokchung and also multi-storied building to accommodate the programme officers serving in Mokokchung. 

He also said the hospital needed a modern, well-equipped morgue to examine the post-mortem cases. This was the first official visit by the health minister after he took charge of the department.
