SON to conduct district games in Tuensang, Wokha

With an aim to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disability, blind, deaf and dumb, autism, locomotors, celebral palsy and multiple disabilities, Special Olympics Nagaland (SON) would conduct district games in Tuensang and Wokha. 
In this regard, SON team has invited all disabled person’s to register with SSA, social welfare and Churches to come with their parents or relatives to take part in the games. 
Persons with disability yet to register with any one of the above bodies have been invited to participate in the event. Registration would be free.
The games would start at 7 a.m on the respective dates in both the districts.
The team would also lay special focus to volunteers and guide them on how to handle the special peoples. SON team consisting of coaches would leave for Tuensang from Dimapur and organize the district games on April 17, and then leave for Wokha on April 19. The event will be held at public ground, Wokha.

It mat be mentioned that every year, SON organizes such programmes in different districts until all districts are covered and those who qualify in the district games are invited for state games which is held annually in Dimapur. 
Basing on their performances, district and state games will be a proving ground for participants which would enable them to qualify for national games from where they will be selected for world games.
