Lang Hydro Project to be commissioned

Construction of the 1 MW Lang Hydro Electric Project near Pangsha village under Noklak subdivision of Tuensang district, which began in 2002-03 has been completed and expected to be commissioned shortly, reports DIPR.

Quoting Power department sources, DIPR stated that a team comprising of parliamentary secretary Power Kipili Sangtam, Addl.

CE and senior officers of the department carried out a preliminary inspection of the project site on April 16 and found that all civil works and electrical installation fully completed as per specifications.

Later, during an interaction with officials and village council members, the parliamentary secretary assured the village council that a fair priced shop would be opened at the project site to provide the basic needs of both the staff and the villagers.

Kipili also assured that setting up of a Primary Health Centre(PHC) and a primary school would be initiated.

He also appealed to the village council to extend full support and cooperation with regard to law and order and security-related issues whenever the need arose.

He also congratulated both civil and electrical engineers and staff on the successful completion of the project.
