Kohima Town Hotel & Restaurant Union (KTH&RU) during a general meeting held on April 27, in Hotel Japfu resolved to observe cleanliness day of hotels and restaurants within Kohima town every last Saturday of the month.
President KTH&RU N. Theyo, in a release stated the union further resolved to upkeep toilet/bathroom/cup plates and kitchen accessories besides keeping rooms/table free of flies under strict supervision of the proprietor/manager.
The union also brought to the notice of all the members present that ‘No objection certificate’ was required from deputy commissioner, Kohima, as made mandatory by the labour commissioner’s office for registration with the union, adding membership certificate will be issued to all the hotels and restaurants after registration was done by the labour commissioner’s office.
The union has proposed to award the best hotel of the year, publish hotels and restaurants directory where details will be provided along with names and address of the hotels & restaurants in Kohima town, and warn hotels and restaurants which are found unhygienic by the union.
