Village development authority of Padum Pukhuri organized village developmental and improvement works at the village with MGNREGA job card holders of the village, on Saturday.
Receiving overwhelming response towards the welfare of the village, the developmental drive also witnessed participation of other villagers led by GBs, council members, community leaders, members of village development board, village vigilance committee members and village elders besides.
Besides carrying village developmental works at the sites of MGNREGA schemes such as road and drainage improvement etc., villagers also conducted cleanliness drive.
Village council chairman, Vitoka Katty stated there has been lot of development in the village through funds received from MGNREGA and that the village was also judiciously utilizing the fund for the development of the village.
Wojamo Lotha, secretary VDB, said MGNREGA has improved the lives of the villagers. In this regard, the council chairman and VDB secretary thanked officers of Medziphema RD Block and Project Director, DRDA Dimapur and his officials for always guiding the villagers.
It may be mentioned that Padum Pukhuri, one of the biggest village in Dimapur district with population comprising of various communities and tribes, is one of those villages that are successfully and judiciously implementing government sponsored schemes for the development of the village.
