Malaysian police and overseas merchant naval authorities still continued to search for the body of Moasangba (24) a crew member of overseas merchant navy vessel who went missing under mysterious circumstances since May 23 from Bendolo, Malaysia.
Talking to Nagaland Post, Tinuneken, father of Moa disclosed that he received a call from Indian High Commission Wednesday stating that they found a body at Miri jurisdiction 70 kms away from the dock.
Uncertain whether the body was that of Moasangba, family members mailed the description details and photo of the boy for identification to the High Commission.
Family members and Mongchen Senso Telongjem (MST) appealed the High Commission and Malaysian government to put more effort in their search and shed light on the incident at the earliest.
MST in a statement said: “If he is really dead like we all fear, based on humanitarian grounds, we kindly request the concerned authority to see to it that he makes his final journey back home…for the last rites as per our tradition,”
Family members and MST urged the sate government to take up the issue with the Centre for a detailed probe. They also sought the help of the state government.
