Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) has demanded rectification of advertisement No.CEL/DSC/341/1077-100, dated May 7, 2013, in which minimum requisite qualification for the post of LDA-cum-computer assistant has been prescribed as graduate with computer knowledge.
In a letter, addressed to the chief engineer, power department, the ENSF vice president Shahsha L. Menhahu and assistant general secretary Topongchuba Chang pointed out that as per the Office Memorandum No.ATR/Gen-189/2008, dated June 8, 2010, the state government relaxed educational qualification for backward tribes for direct recruitment to the post of LDA in the directorate and district offices, subject to certain conditions: 10+2 as qualification for LDA-cum-computer assistant; relaxation will be for the period of 5 years from the date of issue of OM and those appointed under relaxation need to acquire computer proficiency within 2 years.
However, ENSF said as a result of recent advertisement the applications of those candidates from eastern Nagaland’s six backward tribes have been rejected, contrary to the OM.
Requesting the authority to rectify the matter, ENSF said thereafter enough time be given to those applicants of six tribes for submission of application.
Meanwhile, ENSF has reminded all the departments to follow the partial modification of OM No.AR-8/19/84 dated Mar 16, 2006 and No.AR-3/Gen-189 dated Mar 2, 2010 while conducting recruitment to the post of LDAs for six backward tribes.
