With an aim to put Nagaland in the music map of the world, ‘Music United’, an initiative of around 150 work force comprising musicians, music lovers, song writers, audio engineers, stage engineers, cinematographers and industry professionals will be taking out music to the streets of Dimapur, along with over 460 cities in about 110 countries as the world celebrates ‘World Music Day’ on June 21.
As in tradition practiced all over the world, ‘Music United’ plans to have the celebration on the street of Bank Colony, opposite Super Market, Dimapur from 6 p.m. onwards.
Talking to Nagaland Post on Tuesday at Café Destination, former Naga Idol, Moanungsang, said that top bands from Nagaland including Purple Fusion, UDX, Incipit, Alo Wanth, Clueless Attention, and Blue Print would be performing, and is perhaps first of its kind in the state where all the artistes would be performing, including sound, light and other equipment, for free.
He disclosed that it would be a free concert where everyone in the music industry would converge together in bringing music to the street for the people to have a great evening with some good music.
Moanungsang also acknowledged deputy commissioner, Dimapur, N. Hushili, and SP, Dimapur, V.Z Angami, for their prompt response towards the concert, at the same time invited all print and electronic media to be part of the celebration.
He further added that Nagaland Motorcycle Club, Dimapur unit, would be joining in to support the Music United in celebrating the day.
Meanwhile, Music United has appealed to the general public to cooperate with the traffic regulation on the said day.
