V.K Town Union Dimapur (VKTUD) has condemned the shooting incident on June 12 at Akuluto town wherein Atoka Assumi, son of Vitokhe Assumi, former president, Sumi Hoho, of Litami village was shot death and also grievously injuring another person identified as Robin Sumi of Lumitshami village.

According to a condemnation note issued by VKTUD general secretary, Amento S. Chishi, despite serving an ultimatum to NSCN (K) higher ups by different union and organizations to nab the culprit and to penalize the accused and to deliver justice to the victim’s family at the earliest,  the union was surprised that the accused was still absconding.

VKTUD also stated that the union/organization under V.K and Akuluto area as well as the Nagas in common “questioned” the dignity and credibility of NSCN (K) authorities as to whether they were “national workers for Nagas’ cause or killer of innocent Nagas in Nagaland.”

Therefore, the union in its strongest termed appealed to NSCN (K) to book the offender and to hand over the accused to the competent authority within a few days failing which the union/organization under V.K area said it would take “extreme course of actions against NSCN (K)”.
