NSWC condemns July 6 rape

Nagaland State Women Commission (NSWC) has strongly condemned the alleged rape on an 11 year old minor girl at Punglwa village under Jalukie town on July 6.

Stating that crimes against women and children are crimes against humanity at large, the commission appealed to all right thinking citizen to voice out against such crimes in the society.

It also expressed dismay that such crimes are increasing in its pace and said that these crimes are not to be tolerated in a civilized society.

Nagaland State Women Commission further urged the investigating agencies expedite and to take up the matter with utmost seriousness, establish the guilt of the perpetrator and to award maximum punishment as per the law without further delay.

Nagaland State Women Commission also said that the law of the land must be allowed to prevail and no conciliatory intervention from any quarter should be permitted to interfere with the due process of law to ensure everyone to live safely in the society.
