A day long animal health-cum-vaccination camp organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Longleng under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)-RC for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre, Jharnapani was held on July 25 at Orangkong village Longleng district.
The vaccination programme started with an informal gathering where SMS (animal science) Dr. Lily Ngullie, highlighted the importance of livestock diseases and its management with special reference to swine fever.
Altogether 265 pigs were vaccinated against swine fever, around 70 dogs against rabies and 20 numbers of cattle against black quarter.
Medicines like vitamin and mineral mixtures, de-worming were also distributed to the farmers. Around 300 farmers were benefited through this camp.
The camp was assisted by VFAs from district veterinary office Longleng. Meanwhile, village council chairman has expressed gratitude on behalf of the village to the joint director Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Nagaland centre and Krishi Vigyan Kendraofficials for organising the camp and has urged upon to organise such camps in future.
