ANSTA for proper implementation of midday meal scheme

Following recent midday meal tragedy that claimed the lives of 23 school children in Bihar and hospitalization of 78 students of govt. upper primary school in Rajasthan after consuming midday meal served in their schools, All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has requested the responsible school authority/in-charges of midday meal scheme to properly supervise/monitor the implementation process of the scheme for the safety of the students.

In a press release, ANTSA president Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary P. Vashum impressed upon the responsible implementing agencies to take note of following points while executing the scheme in the various schools across the State.

– Ensure that hygienic/Clean food stuff is provided.
– Ensure that items/materials used in preparing food are of standard quality.
– Ensure that provided food is properly cooked
– Ensure that food is not contaminated
– Procurement of food grains/other items, etc in sealed containers.

Further, ANTSA requested the implementing authorities to utilize the scheme/funds judiciously and ensure that it reached the targeted group of students without mismanagement or misappropriation.
