Quick Response Team (QRT) of Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) apprehended two suspected vehicle lifters August 21 midnight from Seikhazou colony Kohima.
The vehicles lifters were held by a team led KVYO QRT convenor Thefuhulie Belho. The two accused was handed over to North police station Kohima.
They were identified as one Rihoto Zhimomi (26), son of Tokheze of Jhokhuvi village under Satoi police station Zunheboto and Mughaka Aye (21), son of Tonhopu Aye hailing from Litsami village under Suruhoto police station Zunheboto.
According to Belho, the QRT team came across an Alto LXI (WB-34J-9246) parked in the middle of the road along with the occupants.
On checking the vehicle, the team recovered money amounting to around Rs. 76,000 and four vehicle keys from their possession.
According to the police, the main accused Pavika Assumi, son of Hokishe Assumi of Tokiye village, under Zunheboto district was absconding. He is reported to be habitual “thief” who was held for theft in 2011.
A case has been registered under North police station and further investigation was on till the time of filing this report.
