One day district level training of livestock and poultry farmers was conducted on August 8 at the district veterinary & AH office conference hall, Dimapur with two farmers from each village attending the programme.
VAS, DVO’s office Dr H Hevito Shohe, imparted training on ‘Animal disease awareness, cattle fertility and insurance policy.’
In his key note address, Dr Shohe highlighted the objective of the programme. He also dwelt on the commonly occurring animal disease of economic importance with special reference to swine fever and porcine respiratory and reproductive syndrome in pig, foot and mouth disease in ruminants and swine, rabies and canine distemper in dog and Ranikhet disease and fowl pox in poultry.
VAS Veterinary Hospital Dimapur Dr Sentinungla spoke on the reproductive management with special reference to dairy cow fertility, its economic importance and health care. The programme concluded after the interaction and discussion between the resource person and farmers.
